Monday Map -- Glacial Lake Ahtna

We live in the outwash of the post-glacial floods.

Glacial Lake Ahtna started us down our geology rabbit-hole last winter.  Because once we started looking for post glacial lakes (and their associated floods), we started finding them everywhere in the northland.

Names and shapes changed with time and in response to glacial advances and retreats.  Most of the freshest evidence is from the end of the last glacial period.
