Twenty-Five Years

Tying the knot

So, it was twenty-five years ago today that Dennis and I got married. Yep--today is our silver wedding anniversary.

Wedding Party

We had a small family wedding at my parents' house. My older brother was Denny's best man and my cousin Kathy was my matron of honor. (Kathy's parents had been best man and matron of honor at my parent's wedding...) I chose autumn colors for my trim and flowers. I bought my ivory-colored satin blouse and skirt off-the-rack at Nordstrom's. (I still have it around here someplace but doubt I could get into it.)

Daylight was already beginning to fade at four in the afternoon when we left for the reception. It was about ten degrees--a fine fall day in Alaska.

We drove into town and had a reception for friends and colleagues at one of the larger hotels in Fairbanks. Small wedding and big party was just the right sort of celebration for us. My Dad still talks about how much "those FAA folks" drank...

I love the colour you chose for your dress - just gorgeous - and the trim was beautiful.
