Max is our resident sun-worshipper.
Some of our other cats seem to engage in a primitive rite that involves their toys and the food dish, but for Max, it is always the sun. He makes a point of greeting the rising sun and will spend an hour or more basking in the first warmth of the day.
Max seems undaunted by the rigors his ritual demands of him in these colder months but Denny felt bad for Max. When he saw him this morning, sitting outside on the frosty deck, he took out the insulated seat he uses on the backhoe for Max to sit on.
The idea was an instant hit with Max.
Now he will expect it all the time.

Today is the day we get the hoe back.
So, yesterday Denny thought he could dislodge the overhanging ice by throwing something at it. I won't say too much more about it because I have done the same thing myself. Overnight, the lost tool has crept into sight.
Ma Nature will take care of both the overhanging ice and the errant hoe.
In Her own time.

Frannie watches the snow flakes fall--about two-thirty this morning.
By daybreak, there were seven inches on the ground. The sky was overcast and the snow continued relentlessly all day.
Irregardless of that, I think were going to have six more weeks of winter anyway.
