New Year, Old Ends

Despite the hub-bub of New Year's Eve, the new year always seems to creep in during the post-holiday lassitude. I rouse myself from my mid-winter stupor, brush the last of the cookie crumbs from my pajamas and begin to face the new year.

Of course, I tell myself that my lethary is seasonal, the natural reaction to long nights, cooler temperatures and the urge to eat everything in sight. It is so easy to lay back and drift through the short winter days.

At least I finally got my 2010 calendars put up.

You have to take these small victories as they come...
