Homeward Bound: Day One

 Mesa, AZ to Twin Falls, ID

We had the van all packed except for the cats and the coolers Wednesday evening, before laying down for a nap.  We needed to make a run for higher terrain before the heat of the day, so we got up about ten pm and started the cat round-up, which of course quickly turned into a cat stampede.  I started with the most timid, carrying them out in individual carriers to Dennis, who sat in the van releasing them intside, where they'd disappear into the refuges we had provided in the back.

The process took less time than it did last year but it still took over an hour to get everyone from the house to the van.
