Owl
After our long day on Monday, Denny and I were standing in the entryway, getting ready to head upstairs to bed, when we hear a strange scratching sound coming from just outside the window.
After checking with our bird books, I think it is a Northern Saw-Whet owl.

It looks small. Very pretty, and from the link you have, I agree about the name. Wonder how long it stayed?
We have seen several other species of owl during daylight hours since we moved here but this nightime sighting was new. I would have gotten another picture but the owl flew off to a nearby tree.
